Revision Strategy for CA Final Students

1. Single Group or Both Group

Before starting your revision, ask yourself whether you want to go for a Single Group or both groups. If your preparation is strong enough for both, then go ahead. Otherwise, don’t waste time—start revising with one group and give it your full effort.

2. Make a Schedule

Time utilization is the key. Prepare a timetable that gives equal attention to all subjects, or divide time based on your strengths and weaknesses. Allocate hours for each topic every day. You can take 2–3 subjects daily and ensure that you complete each goal within the set time.

3. Short Notes

Your handwritten revision notes and voice recordings can be extremely helpful for quick revision anywhere, anytime. These notes become especially important in the last days before the exam.

4. RTP & MTP

Cover all your RTPs and MTPs as soon as possible for every subject. They guide you on how to attempt the paper effectively. Begin with RTP and solve MTP closer to your exam date.

5. Focus on Amendments

ICAI expects you to stay updated with all recent changes in laws and provisions. Don’t skip amendments—cover them first, especially in subjects like DT, IDT, and Law.

6. Don’t Stick to Theory for Entire Day

If you spend your entire day on theory, you might lose focus. To stay engaged, limit time on theoretical subjects and balance it by watching revision video classes by your faculty. This is also a good way to revise amendments.

7. Cover AS, Ind AS, and SA

This section is highly scoring in Accounting and Auditing. Although these standards might seem easy, they are time-consuming during the paper. Practice them well in advance.

8. Writing Skills

Since most CA Final subjects are theory-based, writing skills matter a lot. Good presentation and structured answers can help you score better. So don’t neglect writing practice during your revision.
