CA Ashish Kalra: Hello! Yes, who’s speaking?

Student: Hello, sir! Good evening.

CA Ashish Kalra: Good evening! Tell me, you didn’t complete the Cost and Management Accounting (CMA) homework, did you?

Student: No sir, I didn’t.

CA Ashish Kalra: Well, that means your revision will take more time, my friend. See, if you didn’t do the homework along with the classes, you’ll need to invest extra time in revision. But don’t worry, it’s fine. Those who did the homework alongside the classes will find the revision easier and quicker. But since you didn’t, you’ll just need a bit more time.

Student: Okay, sir.

CA Ashish Kalra: First things first—have you completed the entire syllabus?

Student: Yes, sir, I’ve completed it.

CA Ashish Kalra: Great! So, here’s the next question—are you ready to study one subject from Group 2 and one from Group 1 together? How does that sound?

Student: Yes, sir. I’m okay with that.

CA Ashish Kalra: Perfect! So, let’s pick Taxation from Group 1 and FM-SM from Group 2. You can allocate 8 hours a day to FM-SM and 7 hours to Tax. That makes a total of 15 hours a day for studying.

Now, don’t forget your personal time—you’ll need around 2-3 hours for breaks, meals, etc. Out of 24 hours, you’ll need 7 hours for sleep and 2 hours for personal time. That includes things like exercising, spending time with family, eating, and bathing.

Student: Okay, I understand.

CA Ashish Kalra: Good. So, you’ve got 15 hours for study. You’ll need to figure out when you’ll study Tax and when you’ll study FM-SM, including time for breakfast and other activities. Ideally, you should aim to complete both subjects in around 20-22 days.

Student: That sounds doable.

CA Ashish Kalra: Great. Now, once you finish these two, you can move on to CMA and Law. You can follow the same pattern—8 hours for one subject and 7 hours for the other. Aim to complete this pair in about 18-20 days since Law is a bit shorter. For CMA, which you haven’t revised in a while, let’s assume it’ll take around 20 days. The last Accounting and Audit aims to complete this in 18 Days.

Student: Got it.

CA Ashish Kalra: So, with these pairs, you’ll have used about 60 days in total for your first round of revision.

Student: Okay.

CA Ashish Kalra: Now, let’s talk about the time we have left. Today’s August 20th, right? So, we’ve got 10 days left in September, 31 days in October, 30 in November, 31 in December, and your exams start on January 11th, right?

Student: Yes, sir.

CA Ashish Kalra: So, in total, we have about 112 days until your exams. Out of that, you’ll spend 60 days on your first revision, which leaves you with 52 days for your second and third revisions.

Student: Okay, sir.

CA Ashish Kalra: Now, let’s plan the second revision. For FM-SM, give it 5 days. Tax is a bit larger, so give that 5.5 days. For Audit, give it 4 days. For CMA, give it 5.5 days. For Law, give it 4 days. For Accounts, give it 5 days. That’ll cover your second revision in about 30 days.

Student: That makes sense.

CA Ashish Kalra: After that, we’ll move to the third revision. Since we have 22 days left, you can use this time to fine-tune everything. During your second revision, you’ll need to attempt RTPs (Revision Test Papers) and MTPs (Mock Test Papers).

Student: Alright.

CA Ashish Kalra: Your second revision should be detailed. Focus on revising all the concepts and theories, and make sure to work on the questions where you got stuck. After completing the RTPs, go over the questions where you faced difficulties. During the third revision, you should quickly go through everything one more time.

Student: That’s a good plan, sir.

CA Ashish Kalra: Exactly. Remember, the second revision is key to solidifying everything. For the RTPs, give yourself enough time to solve the tough questions and also spend some time on the MTPs. You can do a final round of revision closer to the exam.

Student: I’ll make sure to do that, sir.

CA Ashish Kalra: Great! Now, go ahead and make a detailed plan for each day. Decide which topics you’ll cover on which days. Once you’ve sorted that out, everything will fall into place.

Student: I will, sir. Thank you!

CA Ashish Kalra: You’ve got this! All the best!
