CA Inter & Foundation January 2027 Exam Dates Announced

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially announced the exam dates for the CA Foundation and CA Intermediate January 2027 examinations. The announcement, issued by the Examination Department on 23rd September 2026, gives students a clear timeline to plan their preparation strategy.

OFFICIAL CA INTER JANUARY 2027 EXAM DATES

As per Notification No. 13-CA(EXAM)/JANUARY/2027, issued under Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the CA Intermediate examinations will be conducted on the following dates:

Group 1	2nd, 4th & 6th January 2027
Group 2	8th, 10th & 12th January 2027

The CA Foundation examination, notified under Regulation 25F of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, will be held on:

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR STUDENTS

With the exact dates now confirmed, students have a firm timeline to work backwards from. As of today, that gives CA Inter Group 1 aspirants roughly 100 days to prepare, with a few extra days for those appearing in Group 2 and Foundation.

Here is what students should focus on in this window:

1. Complete the syllabus first — before moving to revisions, ensure every topic has been covered at least once.
2. Plan for at least two full revisions — the first revision builds familiarity; the second reveals what you actually retain under exam conditions.
3. Register and complete formalities early — don’t wait until the last date for the exam form to avoid late fees or last-minute issues.
4. Attempt mock tests under timed conditions — especially important for Foundation Papers 3 & 4, which are MCQ-based with negative marking.

A QUICK NOTE ON EXAM PATTERN

For CA Foundation candidates, remember that Papers 1 & 2 are descriptive with reading time, while Papers 3 & 4 are MCQ-based with 0.25 negative marking and no reading time — a different strategy is needed for these papers compared to the descriptive ones.
