Avoid Failing CA Foundation Law in Your Next Attempt
(Inspired by Rishabh Gaur Sir’s Mentorship for CA Foundation Aspirants)
So, your Law paper didn’t go as planned. The marks were disappointing. Maybe you failed—or maybe you just didn’t score what you truly deserved.
This is not the time to feel defeated. This is the time to evaluate, learn, and bounce back stronger.
As CA Foundation mentor Rishabh Gaur Sir puts it:
“Business studies mein planning, organising, staffing, directing sab seekh liya. Ab controlling ka samay hai — it’s time to evaluate.”
Let’s break it down — the real reasons why Law as a subject gets tough for students, and how you can overcome every single hurdle with the right plan and mindset.
Step 1: Did You Actually Study Law the Right Way?
Let’s start at the basics.
- Classroom Study: If you haven’t studied Law thoroughly through proper lectures or coaching classes, this is your first gap.
- What to do: Watch high-quality revision lectures. Rishabh Sir has covered:
- Indian Contract Act
- Negotiable Instruments Act
- Indian Partnership Act
- LLP Act
- Interpretation of Statutes
- What to do: Watch high-quality revision lectures. Rishabh Sir has covered:
Fix This: Go through all the revision lectures before doing anything else.

Step 2: Did You Revise After Class?
Attending class is one thing, retaining it is another.
- Law is theory-heavy. If you didn’t revise, you probably forgot everything by the time exams came around.
Fix This: Prioritize systematic revision. Rishabh Sir has uploaded revision videos for all major Acts. Go through them again, even if you’ve already studied once.
Step 3: Did You Practice Case-Based Questions?
Understanding the law ≠ Knowing how to write an answer.
- You must apply law to case studies, and that only happens through question practice.
Fix This:
- Solve questions from:
- MTPs (Mock Test Papers)
- RTPs (Revision Test Papers)
- Past Year Papers
- IGP’s curated question bank

Step 4: Did You Practice Writing the Answers?
Reading answers is not enough.
“Jo soch ke lagta hai ki aata hai, woh likhne mein galat nikal jaata hai.”
Fix This:
- Watch the video: “How, What & How Much to Write”
- Understand answer structure: Law – Facts – Application – Conclusion
- Practice 3-marker vs 5-marker vs 7-marker answers separately.
Step 5: Did You Attempt Mock Tests Under Exam Conditions?
This is where most students go wrong.
- Mock test at home ≠ Real pressure
- Solving casually ≠ Simulating actual exam
- 3.5 hours at leisure ≠ 3 hours of focused, uninterrupted writing
Fix This:
- Take mock tests under strict 3-hour conditions
- No breaks, no looking back, no checking solutions mid-way
- Get them evaluated or compare with ideal answers

Are You Ready to Bounce Back?
This blog isn’t just a plan—it’s a commitment to yourself.
Whether you’re reading this in April, July, October or December—these strategies work for every attempt of CA Foundation Exams (January, May, & September), every student.
Just ask yourself:
- Did I study Law sincerely?
- Did I revise and solve questions?
- Did I write answers?
- Did I take full mock tests?
- Did I manage my exam time properly?
If your answer is no to even one of these, now you know what to fix.
Final Words from Rishabh Gaur Sir:
“Main chhodunga nahi, jab tak tum pass nahi ho jaate. Tumhe bhi chhodna nahi hai apna goal, jab tak tum CA ban nahi jaate.”
Let’s work together. Let’s write together. Let’s clear CA Foundation this time — once and for all.
Comment on your own notebook, planner or heart: “Yes Sir, I’m ready. Let’s break the limits this time.”
